A substantial number of people voted for so-called "moderate" Republicans. Those people will tell themselves and anyone who will listen that they don't agree with or support the MAGA lunatics, but ... gosh darn it, they just can't vote for the Democrat because reasons.

But they sure don't support far-right lunacy! They're, you know, just about common sense stuff. The economy and so forth.

The thing these folks choose to ignore, and lie to themselves about, is that their vote for a "moderate" is actually a vote to empower the most extreme, nihilist, white christian nationalists in the House.

They tell themselves they voted for something different, but this is *exactly* what they voted for, and when it hurts them and the people they love, they'll do it all over again.

I was one of the first 10,000 users on Twitter. I think I may even be in the first 1500. I LOVED it when we were all helping shape it and figure out what it was going to be.

I was there when the hashtag and @ mention was created. I was literally on the thread (before threads were a thing) where we kind of decided that's how we were going to do it.

I was one of the first media personalities Twitter highlighted, and used to help the service grow.

I am in 100% alignment with Umair. Twitter was amazing, until Jack Dorsey and the board decided to allow Nazis to weaponize it. That's all Twitter is, now. It's a weapon to hurt vulnerable, marginalized people, to encourage and embolden violence and hate.

And that's exactly what its narcissistic, sociopathic, 4chan troll owner wants it to be.
